If you had been living life on the poop deck, London Gay Symphonic Winds’ Spring 2017 concert was guaranteed to raise your spirits aloft. Celebrating maritime music from the lyrical to the cheeky, LGSW sailed with The Flying Dutchman, The Pirates of the Caribbean and The Little Mermaid, and went cruising Beyond the Sea. Whether you prefered to board the HMS Pinafore or the Padstow Lifeboat, LGSW spanned the ocean with both British and American Sea Songs.
The evening was hosted by the hilarious Cally Beaton, who steered the ship as the band navigated all kinds of weather, from the stormy squalls of Wagner to the smooth seas of Enya.
LGSW’s “Hello Sailor” concert was at 7:30 on 22nd April at St Sepulchre Without Newgate, Holborn Viaduct, London EC1A 2DQ.
